Centrix Pharmaceutical announces Clofera™, a unique antitussive and nasal decongestant for the temporary relief of cough and nasal congestion

August 14, 2009 – BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Centrix Pharmaceutical, Inc., a privately-held specialty pharmaceutical company focused on Pediatrics and Women's Health, announced plans to commercially launch Clofera™ for the temporary relief of cough and nasal congestion.

Clofera™ is indicated for the temporary relief of cough and nasal congestion due to the common cold, hay fever, or other upper respiratory allergies. Clofera™ contains a non-narcotic antitussive, chlophedianol hydrochloride, in addition to nasal decongestant, pseudoephedrine hydrochloride. The product is specifically formulated without dyes, sugar, alcohol or gluten to meet particular consumer needs and address patient sensitivities. Clofera™ is expected to release during the beginning of the fourth quarter.

Clofera™ temporarily controls the cough reflex, temporarily relieves nasal congestion, swollen nasal passages, sinus congestion and pressure. Clofera™ should not be used in patients taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors or with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the product. Patients with a chronic cough, asthma, emphysema, mucus production, heart disease, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, diabetes, or enlarged prostate should consult physician before use. Recommended dosage should not be exceeded. Clofera™ contains no dextromethorphan, antihistamines, sugar, alcohol, or dyes and is gluten free. Clofera™ will be available in grape flavor.

Sales Force Expansion Underway

Centrix announces ongoing expansion of its U.S. sales force during the second half of 2008. The plan calls for increased presence in women's health and pediatric markets through the addition of eight new territories located in high volume strategic markets. This sales force expansion enables Centrix to continue a strong engagement with physicians and a more solution-focused approach for patients.

Centrix Enters Agreement with JSJ Pharmaceuticals To Co-Promote Inova® Acne Control Therapy (Benzol Peroxide/Salicylic Acid) Easy Pads®

Inova® Easy Pad® showed no irritation on 52 subjects over a 3 week trial period. The Inova® Easy Pad® formulation was proven safe with little to no irritation in a 3 week study of 53 subjects. During this trial period no adverse reaction or symptoms were reported. Inova 2% showed excellent results in 60% of patients and good results in 38% of patients.
